Internet shutdowns have become more common in recent years, depriving people worldwide of full or partial access to the internet. To better understand civil society’s needs on these shutdowns, Digitally Right in Bangladesh and The Bachchao Project in India have partnered with Internews to conduct this necessary research. This research aimed to identify the risks of internet shutdowns, the tools and skills necessary to prepare for them, and the legal and strategic approaches available to combat them. The session will showcase the findings of this research and learn from other organizations that are working to combat internet censorship in the Asia Pacific region.
