Roundtable/Focus Group Never Ending Repression: How Digital Rights Violations in West Papua

West Papua has always been the region with the most digital rights violations in Indonesia. The forms of these violations range from restrictions on Internet access, criminalization of expressions in the digital sphere, and digital attacks, especially against activists. Digital repression against human rights defenders in Papua continues without stopping. Nonetheless, the issue of digital rights has not yet become a concern for civil society organizations in this conflict area. This session will examine how is the current situation in West Papua from the digital rights perspective.
